When i set up the airfield information at the start, i embedded the information from AirfieldCards.com, which is a great resource. However, i made the flexwing site secure (https) and the cards site isn’t, so my site blocked any embedded code because they weren’t secure anymore.
I started to take snapshot JPGs and replacing the embedded code, to get it working again, but I always knew this wasn’t the right way to do it, and i couldn’t update any information this way. Airfield cards.com is on an old Joomla platform, and never seems to be updated. I see recently that it seems to be going offline quite regularly, so i’m taking the bull by the horns… I Have spent the last week learning some more web coding and have finally sussed out how to make the Airfield information look better (I hope) and its in a format that i can quickly change and update if i want to.
I also want to include pictures and videos of the respective airfields, to make it more interesting. As you can imagine, this is a mammoth task, as there are loads of airfields and i have also started including some in England, where i have been requested.
I have done the first 2 – Balado and Barra. Have a look and see if you like it. All feedback welcome.
